Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School in 1992 began her studies in marine biology. Bossard began her career working in the commercial seafood sector in 1999. In that year she worked in Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut vessel, later transformed into a fishing tender. Bossard has been married to Aritan and has joined their teams to take over their respective industries. They are both proponents conservation of sustainable, renewable sources of seafood. Otolith is a wholesale direct seafood retailer, was founded in the year 2007 by Bella Bossard (age three), Andre Bossard (1 year old) and Bossard's mother. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia following the birth of two children. She and her husband are separated by 5 months plus more to allow her to concentrate on her goals in terms of finances and the environment. Bossard's daughters Isabella aged 12 and son Andre aged 10 come back each year each year to Southeast Alaska to work in the deckhand role throughout the salmon wild season. They use hooks and line to collect their fish, after which they join Aritan to sell to local processors for two months. They then continue to increase their direct seafood sales through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard was hired as a News 12 Anchor/MMJ and News 12 Brooklyn on November 15, 2015.
